Two thirds of Chow Yun-Fat's role was cut out of the Chinese version of this flick in order to get the movie to be approved to be shown in China. Officially, it's because of "excessive violence and horror". Oddly enough, Chow’s reading of the poem The Moon Shining Over the Mountain on the Border by famous Tang dynasty poet Li Bai has also been cut. Remember, there is no freedom of speech here.
